Clopton Capital, a commercial mortgage service based in Chicago, IL, is contesting Bing's recent flagging of their website CommercialMortgageSource.com. The site, which provides a commercial mortgage calculator, was improperly flagged by Bing, and Bing has yet to classify the website as safe.
“A while back, a few of our blogs were hacked and redirected to a Chinese retailer. The problem was rectified within hours, but Bing for some reason is keeping CommercialMortgageSource.com on a blacklist despite it being a completely safe site,” said Jake Clopton, the founder of Clopton Capital.
Clopton Capital feels this blacklisting is unfairly affecting their business due to the loss of traffic from Microsoft's search engine.
“Today we told them in precise and certain terms that the site is safe and that they need to rescan it, but they haven't bothered to scan the site again even so. Google took mere hours to put us back on their safe list when our blogs were maliciously redirected,” said Jake Clopton. The firm currently has a the top listing on Bing for the term “commercial mortgage calculator” and feels that many of their website users might be weary of using or embedding their java application out of fear that their site may in-fact be malicious.
The firm vows unequivocally that their websites are 100% safe and have never transmitted malware, nor have they ever traded, shared, or sold any of their user's personal information. The firm also wants to confirm that the structure of their site never saves any personal information of their users. The firm is also demanding that Bing be more considerate of websites within their index when spidering and flagging future results.
