Vizi Courseware ignites the learning centers of the brain. It’s a great tool for today’s educators.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) November 27, 2012

Free Spirit Publishing is now offering online interactive professional development materials for educators from Vizi Courseware. Available through an online subscription, the self-paced multimedia lessons are designed to be used by teachers independently or in a group to earn CEU credits or subject certification, by administrators for staff development, or by college faculty to supplement class texts in an education course.

“We are excited to expand our professional development resources—especially into digital media,” says Meg Bratsch, Free Spirit’s acquisitions manager. “We know that actively engaging the senses enhances learning and the variety and interactivity in Vizi Courseware ignites the learning centers of the brain. It’s a great tool for today’s educators.”

Free Spirit is initially offering two professional development courseware options for gifted education. Students with Advanced Potential: An In-Depth Guide to Gifted Education ($149.99 for a 4-month online subscription) includes over 25 hours of video and interactive lessons with expert interviews, classroom scenarios, case studies, sample student projects, quizzes, digital flashcards, discussion questions, research summaries, and resources for further study. Students with Advanced Potential: An Overview of Gifted Education ($74.99 for a 4-month online subscription) is a compact version of the full program, offering a “mini-course” with over 5 hours of interactive multimedia lessons.

The Students with Advanced Potential courseware covers a broad scope of gifted education issues such as policy, funding, service options, identification, twice-exceptionality, learning environment, differentiation, grouping, assessment, and social-emotional development. The creators of the two tools, Kristie Speirs Neumeister, Ph.D., and Virginia H. Burney, Ph.D., are consultants to the Indiana Department of Education and teach graduate courses in educational psychology relating to gifted education at Ball State University in Indiana.

These multimedia experiences are available exclusively through Free Spirit. For more information and to preview the courseware, visit http://www.freespirit.com/vizi.
