Chief Executive of the American Cancer Society, John Seffrin, has warned that smoking will “kill up to a billion people worldwide this century” unless the government does more to control the tobacco industry. He suggests the need for a rise in the price of tobacco products and to tax the multinational profits of large cigarette firms. Despite the obvious health dangers of smoking, scientists have calculated that as many as 30 million new people take up the habit each year, a trend that could lead to hundreds of millions dying from cancer in the second half of the century.
What makes these figures all the more concerning is that smoking is said to kill more than half of all smokers. Those worried by these statistics but struggling with the physical and mental cravings of smoking would be well advised to look towards electronic cigarettes.
Managing Director of UK-based firm, Nicolites, Nikhil Nathwani, explains how vaping can provide a safer alternative to conventional cigarettes.
“Some of the statements released by these experts are really quite enlightening. They highlight the destructive impact of tobacco on a global scale. However it has been shown that those who manage to give up tobacco have begun to reverse these ill effects to their health. Electronic cigarettes allow people to enjoy the same action they are used to, without tobacco, the main cause of cancer.”
Some attendees of the forum even went one step further by calling for an outright ban on cigarettes. The team at Nicolites are interested to see how this story develops.
Nicolites is now the leading and most widely available brand of electric cigarette in the UK; they have formed business partnerships with many of the largest retailers to bring these wonderful innovations right on to the doorstep of every person in the country. Established in late 2007, Nicolites has grown into a multi-million pound company with international distribution networks and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.
