United Church Homes and Services (UCHS) recently launched a new updated mission statement and logo to better brand the eleven senior services programs that they serve in North Carolina and Virginia.

The new UCHS mission statement reads - A Christian ministry committed to providing vibrant senior living opportunities, diverse programs of outreach and compassionate healthcare services. The new mission reflects the values and strategic direction of the organization. Incorporated in 1961, UCHS has a rich history of mission-driven service to seniors and serves over 1,250 older adults in residential living, assisted living and skilled nursing care with a staff of 700 individuals.

The distinguished new logo is part of a master brand approach for all UCHS locations. Each location's logo will include the corporate name and the organization's signature dove.

"Our brand represents who we are and creates our identity in the communities we serve," shared Lee Syria, President and CEO of United Church Homes and Services. "In an effort to be more effective in branding UCHS, we have freshened our look and solidified our mission statement to reflect a consistent message. The array of services under the direction of UCHS will have one look and one feel."

The 2012 LeadingAge Ziegler 100 Report of the nation's largest not-for-profit senior living organizations was announced and UCHS ranked 79th largest. UCHS is one of ten senior living providers labeled a gamechanger in the industry. This distinction is given to organizations who are effectively changing the face of the industry through expansions, acquisitions, new development, and consistent growth.

UCHS currently operates 11 programs: three continuing care retirement communities, six HUD 202 supportive housing communities, one Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) program, and a childcare center. The corporate office and UCHS Foundation complete the organization. For additional information, contact Joy Cline at 465-8014 or visit our website at http://www.uchas.org.
