Emma Hickman from Warrington has won her battle to prove the paternity of her daughter after her fiancée was killed in a bomb blast on 6th March in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defence has released DNA and now Miss Hickman can prove that Pte Daniel Wade is the Father of Lexie-Mai.
MP David Mowat, who represents Warrington South and backed Miss Hickman’s legal battle believes the MOD should keep DNA of the troops sent into war zones to prevent this situation reoccurring. Speaking in the Commons the Warrington MP asked for Ministers to consider
“asking the Army to routinely hold DNA samples for those on active duty, in the same way they do in France and America”.
