Last week a half mile section of US Forest Road 4510 was paved by local land developer Sapphire Skies. This portion of road is on private land within Trailside at Woods and Steele Community which was developed by Sapphire Skies as well the newly created Woods & Steele Snow Park, also donated by Sapphire Skies.

The half mile section of road that was paved will be dedicated to Kittitas County and will be maintained by their Public Works Department. This allows the local community, visiting recreationalists, and residents of the Trailside at Woods & Steele Community more reliable road maintenance and snow removal in the winter. “With the first snowfall of winter yesterday, it reminds us how much fun there is to be had here in the mountains right behind us. We completed this road just in time for winter use, and we are excited to not only provide the Trailside Community with this excellent four season roadway but all the local residents as well as guests and users of the Woods & Steele Snow Park” says Sean Northrop owner and founder of Sapphire Skies.

The 4510 road continues on to access the 40,000 acre Manastash Recreational land and is popular with outdoor enthusiasts. The road serves as a gateway to the public lands during the spring, summer and fall. In the winter months the 4510 road becomes a groomed snowmobile trail.

US Forest Service Road 4510 and the Trailside at Woods & Steele Community are located 80 minutes east of Seattle on I-90 at exit 78. Driving westbound, the area is also accessible via Exit 84 at Cle Elum.
