I agree 100% with the decisions of the R&A and the USGA that there should be no anchoring of the putter.

Provo, UT (PRWEB) November 30, 2012

PGA Pro Matt Baird has announced a free golf swing analysis inspired by the proposed rule change that would prohibit amateur and professional golfers from using their bodies as an anchor point for their putting swing.

The new rule would not prohibit the use of extended-length putters, which are necessary in order to "anchor" the putter against the body, but it would determine how they can be used going forward.

Fifteen percent of players on the PGA tour this year used an anchored putter in competition and three out of the last five winners of golf majors used the technique in question.

Matt Baird says "I agree 100% with the decision of the R&A and the USGA that there should be no anchoring of the putter. Anchoring any club to the body is an unfair advantage and it takes away from the true definition of the game of golf in that every club should 'freely swing'. A huge element in golf is to conquer your fears and nerves when swinging the club; when you have the club anchored to the body in any way it takes this mental aspect almost completely out of the picture. I know they are looking at enforcing this rule in 2016, I think this rule should be in effect by 2014 at the very latest". Matt is launching his free golf swing analysis to help men and women reach their full swing potential as they work towards their personal goals.

The swing analysis offer, launched at http://www.golfgator.com/blog/golf-video-lessons/ features detailed and scientifically proven ways to improve your golf swing. GolfGator.com, which provides golf training aids, is announcing this offer for any interested individual who wants to improve their golf swing.
