Elements Behavioral Health Hosts a Series of Professional Workshops on Serial Infidelity, Sex, Relationship and Porn Addictions

This month, Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founder of the Sexual Recovery Institute and Director of Intimacy and Sexual Disorders Services at both The Ranch in Tennessee and Promises Treatment Centers in California, will speak in various locations worldwide about the diagnosis and treatment of serial infidelity, relationship, pornography and sexual addiction.

Mr. Weiss begins the month in Amsterdam, training for SolutionS treatment centres in the Netherlands, followed by three unique trainings in London, UK. On Nov. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Mr. Weiss will speak on “Understanding the Diagnosis, Assessment and Treatment of Sexual Addiction in Gay Men” at the Charity Centre Directory of Social Change. As author of Cruise Control: Understanding Sexual Addiction in Gay Men and having specialized in working with many differing sexually addicted populations and their spouses for over 22 years, Mr. Weiss has specifically designed this training to provide empathic insight and practical approaches to those providing clinical care to gay and bisexual men. The cost to attend this workshop is £20 ($32 U.S.) and each guest will receive three CPDs and a free signed copy of Cruise Control.

On Friday, Nov. 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mr. Weiss will lead an “Advanced Training in Sexual Addiction: Treatment and Practice” at the Charity Centre Directory of Social Change. This unique educational opportunity is designed to expand the knowledge, expertise and professional peer network of U.K., Asian and European clinicians with prior experience in the treatment of sexual addiction. The cost to attend is £40 ($65 U.S.), which includes lunch and six CPDs.

On Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mr. Weiss will spend the day training clinicians unfamiliar with addictive sexual disorders. “The Assessment and Treatment of Sexual Addiction in the Digital Age” at the Hilton Kensington in Hilltop Park will provide a thorough introductory training into the etiology of sexual addiction, assessment and treatment tools for sex addicts, spouses and couples, along with the role technology plays in the escalation of sexual addiction. The cost to attend is £60 ($97 U.S.) -- £40 ($77 U.S.) for UKESAD members – which includes lunch, seven CPDs and a book from Mr. Weiss’ collection.

Returning to the U.S., on Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mr. Weiss is the featured keynote speaker on “Understanding the Assessment and Diagnosis of Sexual Addiction” at National University in Costa Mesa, Calif. Organized by the Orange County California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), this presentation will provide insight into the Hypersexuality/Sexual Addiction diagnosis, a review of common addictive sexual acting out behaviors and consequences, and a discussion of the influence of Internet-based sex and porn on sexual addiction.

Mr. Weiss will end the month in St. Louis, Mo. On Nov. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Marriott Hotel, Mr. Weiss will be joined by multiple addictions expert Stefani Carnes, PhD, CSAT-S, for a daylong workshop that outlines the causes, symptoms and treatment of sexual addiction as well as recovery strategies for spouses and family members. The cost to attend is $75 and guests may earn six CEUs.
