XmasPlatinum.com, a creation of Vicarious Sounds, aims to reach 1,000,000 downloads of the song "Hazel Stars" (available on Itunes) by December 25, 2012. 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Founder, Jamal Cummings mother asked him what his christmas wish was this year and he sarcastically replied "A RIAA certified platinum selling single." Knowing that she could not provide this, Mr. Cummings has created a campaign to receive certified platinum status and help grant the wishes of many children in the process.
"The possibility of 'Hazel Stars' achieving platinum status excites me. Coupled with the possibility of granting a great deal of wishes to children makes it that much more gratifying ", says Jamal.
Hazel Stars has been Vicarious Sounds' iconic instrumental when supplying background music for Television and Film. It has been featured worldwide including placements on ESPN, ABC, and an UMBRO advertisement to name a few.
With only a few weeks to reach his goal, Jamal is optimistic that the nation will join in to help the certified platinum wish come true. "Hazel Stars was the first song I ever placed on a television program in 2010. I am hoping it will also be my first song to impact lives."
