EContent magazine, a leading authority on digital publishing, media, and marketing, today announced its list of the 100 companies that have had the most significant impact on the digital publishing and digital content world in 2012 with the release of the EContent 100.
Companies honored include digital content providers and content creators, in addition to companies that support the infrastructure and technology of digital content. Among those named are Amazon, Brightcove, Inc., Facebook, GigaOM, Godengo+Texterity, Hootsuite Media, Inc., Hulu, Spotify, Twitter, and Vimeo.
On this year's list you'll find seasoned vets alongside a few newcomers. Companies range from large, publicly traded entities to smaller startups, but make no mistake: Each has made their impact felt throughout the industry.
"The econtent industry changes from day to day. From one year to the next, it's hardly recognizable, but there are some companies that manage to change with the industry, earning a spot on the EContent 100 year after year. And then there are the upstarts—the companies that see a need within the industry and work to fill it. Our judges strive to recognize companies all along that spectrum, curating a truly representative list of companies making an impact on the digital content industry," said EContent magazine editor, Theresa Cramer.
