Career Cruising 2.0 to launch December 10th

This December, Career Cruising unveils a fresh new look. While the inspiring content and engaging features will continue, a number of new features have been added to seamlessly enhance users’ experience. “It’s like a new toy that you can’t wait to share with your friends!” says Career Cruising CEO Matt McQuillen. “It will look different, but Career Cruising will still have your favourite features and, of course, the same wonderful content. But now we’ll be able to add new features rapidly and users will have an easier time finding everything Career Cruising has to offer.”

Career Cruising Redesign

“It’s like a new toy that you can’t wait to share with your friends!” says Career Cruising CEO Matt McQuillen. “It will look different, but Career Cruising will still have your favourite features and, of course, the same wonderful content."

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) December 04, 2012

This December, Career Cruising unveils a fresh new look. While the inspiring content and engaging features will continue, a number of new features have been added to seamlessly enhance users’ experience.

“It’s like a new toy that you can’t wait to share with your friends!” says Career Cruising CEO Matt McQuillen. “It will look different, but Career Cruising will still have your favourite features and, of course, the same wonderful content. But now we’ll be able to add new features rapidly and users will have an easier time finding everything Career Cruising has to offer.”

Career Cruising’s renovation is inspired by today’s students who want individualized learning plans as well as dynamic career exploration. It offers a more customized experience that helps users to engage with the program more intuitively.

Exciting new features will include:

  •     A navigation option that leads you straight to your personal education portfolio, now called My Plan.
  •     A dashboard updating your My Plan status, showing you what you have completed and what you still need to do.
  •     In-line editing of My Plan so you won’t be waiting for the whole page to refresh when you make changes.
  •     Personalization of the user experience through uploading an avatar picture that is carried through the application
  •     Auto-saving of career assessment results (just in case you forget!).
  •     An updated resume building process.

“Time and time again, we hear that people don't realize everything Career Cruising can do. We want to change that,” says McQuillen. “Rather than make a few changes here and there, we believe the best way to meet our users' needs is a complete renovation that sets the foundation for future additions to the program.”

The design dream-team includes two web designers who created the very first Career Cruising website in 1998 and understand the evolving needs of Career Cruising’s fan base. They worked closely with Jet Cooper, a user experience agency with whom Career Cruising has a trusted relationship.

“The goal was to make the site beautiful to look at, incredibly user-friendly, easy to navigate and a pleasure to use,” says McQuillen. “We believe, with Jet Cooper’s help, we have succeeded.”

Career Cruising’s new look is scheduled to go into maintenance mode on December 8th. Soon after, the switch will be flipped and the new design with go live to users across North America. As always, Client Account Managers are ready to address any questions whatsoever.

Career Cruising was founded in 1997 and is used by nearly 20,000 schools throughout Canada and the United States. The launch of our new website is yet another exciting step in our ongoing mission to engage and inspire individuals of all ages to achieve their full potential in school, career and life.
