Roto-Rooter Atlanta Notes Highlights from Plumbing Manufacturers International Conference

The professional organization Plumbing Manufacturers International recently wrapped up its fall conference. Professional plumbing company Roto-Rooter Atlanta commented on the organizations’ benefit to the plumbing industry.

A Water Technology article detailed happenings at the latest meeting between members of the professional industry organization Plumbing Manufacturers International. Referred to throughout the plumbing industry by the acronym PMI, the organization is made up of plumbing product manufacturers across the globe. Roto-Rooter Atlanta made note of the recent event.

The article noted the primary theme of the conference was to develop a plan to strengthen working relationships with companies throughout the plumbing industry. Potential partnerships included those in the environmental, international and engineering communities. The legislative and regulatory sectors were also of interest.

Representatives of PMI, as well as several of its member organizations, concluded the fall conference by visiting legislators on Capitol Hill, the article noted. During their visits, they discussed issues affecting the plumbing industry with lawmakers.

A culmination of the recent event was the presentation of the PMI President’s Award. The article reported long-time member Craig Selover was honored with the award based on the achievements and contributions he made to the plumbing industry.

The latest PMI conference realized a 94 percent member attendance rate, noted the article. A number of speakers presented on topics felt throughout the industry. U.S. government organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Commerce were represented by presenters at the event. Along with a number of American organizations, groups from Australia and Canada also attended. The article reported the next PMI conference is scheduled to be held in Austin, Texas, during the month of April.
