ZeroTurnaround, the company that’s changing the way the world develops, tests and runs Java applications, today announced the recent hire of Simon Maple as the company’s newest Technical Evangelist. Mr. Maple’s primary role will be working directly with the developer community, a key component in the company’s continued success.
“The developer community is one the most important groups for ZeroTurnaround to be in-front of because we want to help improve their productivity and time-to-market speed,” said Jevgeni Kabanov, founder and CEO of ZeroTurnaround. “Simon, who knows this group inside and out, is the perfect fit to bring our message to the developers through content and speaking opportunities.”
Prior to ZeroTurnaround, Mr. Maple worked at IBM for 11 years, most recently as a Technical Evangelist for the WebSphere Application Server, Liberty Profile and OSGi technologies. In this position Maple led developer relations, organized and ran conferences and worked directly with developer communities such as the WebSphere User Groups and London Java Community, where Maple is on both the organizing and Java Community Process (JCP) committees. Additionally, he served as a Software Developer for IBM’s OSGi feature pack in WAS V8.0, the Software Tester for WebSphere Application Server and Team Leader of the FVT team. Maple received his degree in Computer Science from the University of Reading.
“I’m thrilled to join a smart, creative and lively company like ZeroTurnaround,” said Mr. Maple. “My passion lies in working with and speaking about innovative products within the developer community and I’m looking forward to doing this with JRebel and LiveRebel, two Java productivity tools already well known in the industry.”
