As a global technology company, Lutronic has been developing, manufacturing and selling lasers and therapeutic devices for aesthetic and medical applications since 1997. Following its launch of the ADVANTAGE high power Diode Laser Hair Removal system earlier this year, Lutronic continues to innovate and capture interest with the introduction of CLARITY, a new long-pulsed Alexandrite and Nd:YAG 2-in-1 platform for multiple applications. Introduced during IMCAS Asia in Hong Kong, CLARITY garnered much attention from attendees.
For over a decade, clinical studies have been performed on the long-pulsed 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG lasers to validate the efficacy for multiple indications. As a result of the consistently positive results, combination systems offering long-pulsed Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths are well respected and popular among healthcare professionals.
LUTRONIC Research & Development took a fresh look at this legacy combination and identified ways to further innovate this already proven technology by providing enhanced parameters that maximize efficacy, increase patient comfort and allow physicians to optimize treatments with multiple combinations based on clinical indications and patient skin type.
“Lutronic works diligently to provide practitioners solid technology, designed with innovative features that add true value. We are pleased to offer two such new devices in 2012, with our ADVANTAGE and CLARITY platforms,” stated Ann Marie Collier, Global Products & Marketing Officer. “Our newest product portfolio addition, CLARITY, offers single fiber delivery for all spot-sizes and both wavelengths which enables added user convenience, increased treatment speeds, and reduced costs across many applications. It also features our intuitive graphical user interface that Lutronic customers recognize, appreciate and praise.”
“We wanted to build a system that offered a series of advanced features, including extended parameters, to meet specific physician and treatment needs.” Stated Dr. Boncheol Leo Goo, board certified dermatologist and medical director of medical and scientific affairs, “Then combined with our tough safety and efficacy standards and best-in-class usability, we believe the CLARITY will be very well received.”
To meet the growing demand for a multi-application system that can treat the widest range of skin-types, including dark and tan skin types, the addition of the CLARITY system with Alexandrite is a nice compliment to the already large portfolio of devices Lutronic has on the market.
CLARITY is one of the most versatile dual-wavelength platforms on the market, with multiple indications for top aesthetic laser physicians worldwide. With two workhorse wavelengths, the long-pulsed 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG, in one easy-to-use device, physicians may gently remove pigmented lesions, unwanted hair, tighten skin, and ameliorate the appearance of vascular lesions.
CLARITY offers physicians 9 different spot sizes options, which range from 2 mm up to 20 mm, and includes spot size auto-sensing for additional clinical convenience, in addition to an adjustable green aiming beam. CLARITY also provides optical stability with a ‘flat top’ beam profile, which ensures even and consistent energy delivery during treatments for outcomes that are more predictable regardless of the wavelength selected. CLARITY customers may choose between single- or double- wavelength configurations, in addition to air cooling or built-in cryogen spray cooling, which is typically preferred for improved patient comfort without topical anesthetics. At this time, Lutronic has two patents pending for its Intelligent Cooling Device (ICD).
CLARITY received the CE mark in June 2012; it is not yet for sale in the US, and is pending FDA clearance.
