CLEAR, the New York-based secure biometric identification and data analytics company announced today that Kevin Lupowitz has joined the company as Chief Information Officer. Lupowitz was a founding employee at Liquidnet, the first and largest institutional equities marketplace, and has spent much of his career developing and cultivating successful technology solutions within the financial services industry. He will be responsible for all technology operations at CLEAR, as well as management and expansion of the technology team.
In a move that reflects CLEAR’s continued focus on data analytics and secure identity, Shawn Dagg will become CLEAR’s first Chief of Risk Analytics and Security. In this role, Dagg will focus on scaling CLEAR’s current data analysis platforms and capabilities. He will also continue to act as a primary CLEAR liaison with government and industry stakeholders.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin, who brings impressive experience as a leader in both technology and innovation. His proven track record in growing technology companies will be invaluable to CLEAR as we continue to build our capabilities and grow as the leading trusted repository for secure identity,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker.
“I look forward to joining CLEAR and leading the technology team,” said Lupowitz. “CLEAR is perfectly positioned at the crossroads of technology and data security to transform the way people think about travel and identity. By scaling their already robust technology operations, CLEAR will be able to expand its dynamic platform into other verticals, effectively transforming the way people live and work.”
Certified by the Department of Homeland Security as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology, CLEAR transforms the travel experience by allowing members to use their biometrics (fingerprint or iris) to speed through security at major US airports.
Prior to CLEAR, Kevin served as the Global Head of Technology and Chief Information Officer at Liquidnet for 11 years. He helped the firm grow from its launch in a single market (US) with 38 members, to operating in 39 markets globally with over 600 members in 2011. Kevin has also served as CIO and Global Head of Technology at FX Alliance Inc. (FXall).
CLEAR uses biometric technology to identify members and speed them through airport security averaging 5 minutes or less, effectively eliminating lines and transforming travel. Members save time and stress with dedicated lanes that allow them to be identified in just seconds using their unique fingerprint or iris. CLEAR’s secure technology platform delivers certainty of speed and the highest level of service to members at the airport, while also enhancing airport security.
CLEAR operates at San Francisco, Denver, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Orlando international airports, and recently launched at Westchester County Airport in New York. CLEAR has a growing base of over 225,000 members nationwide and is currently expanding to bring its timesaving, secure biometric technology to airports around the country. Enrollment is fast and easy and can be done at any of CLEAR’s enrollment centers (http://clearme.com/enrollment-centers).
