Mother Goose School, a trusted child care development preschool program in San Francisco, introduced caring and sharing as the school's theme during the month of December. The staff will present curriculum and supplemental activities that focus on teaching children how to socialize, share, have empathy for one another, have good manners and to be emotionally mature.

"These are essential practical life skills and ensure that our students, when they matriculate into kindergarten, feel self-confident, can effectively problem-solve and make friends," said Charles, program director of Mother Goose School. "Friendship is all about caring and sharing, the skills to nurture and prolong relationships that can last a life time. It all begins with the daily work of our dedicated preschool teachers, students and parents."

One of the ways that students learn about Caring and Sharing is through crafts. Mother Goose Schools emphasizes the significance of preschool crafts and works of art as the first reflection of the beginning skills of a young child. The school says that the original works of young children are probably the most coveted items in any parent's house and as children grow up and eventually find their way in the world, what they leave behind in their home are memories, historical artifacts.

As part of Caring and Sharing Month, Mother Goose School also encourages parents to read to their children everyday and take a moment to teach about written language by showing their children letters, punctuation and other aspects of the sentences in a story to help their young reader discover the rules of reading.

Most significantly, students at Mother Goose School participate in a daily music program, which provides them with opportunities for movement, melody and singing experiences. The fall semester culminates with a series of holiday shows, where the students will present musical selections for their families.
