North Attleboro, MA (PRWEB) December 11, 2012

Massachusetts residents John and Alisha Warren have been struggling with transporting their 3-year-old child since they acquired a Permobile power wheelchair 6 months ago. Life hasn’t been easy for the young boy, who suffers from myopathy and has had a tracheotemy. Now the family is concerned because the tie-down belts that hold his chair in place inside their Ford Freestar wheelchair accessible tend to come loose while driving. This requires them to pull off the road, sometimes during heavy traffic, to tighten and adjust the belts for optimal safety. While a proper lockdown system, known as a Permolock, does exist, it retails for thousands of dollars and the Warren’s were just not able afford it.

By reaching out to Heart to Heart International, under the direction of Richard Fisk, they were able to secure funding for half of the cost of the lock they need. Ride-Away, subsidiary of Hasco Medical (symbol:HASC), will be fitting their son and installing this specialized equipment in the Warren’s vehicle. On Saturday December 8th, 2012 Heart to Heart International will be awarding a check to the Warren’s and Ride-Away will be there. When the parts arrive Ride-Away will install them and the Warren’s will rest easy knowing their son is safe and secure in their vehicle.

“[It] will make it so much easier for transporting for school and Doctor’s appointments, he can drive his wheelchair himself now," said Warren.
