Solana Beach, California (PRWEB) December 13, 2012
California based gaytravel.com has made a decision to move its ever so popular Gay Travel Guru Finale to Aspen’s Gay Ski Week which is celebrating its 36th year in operation.
After much debate on the finale location the team at gaytravel.com has made the decision to take the 5 finalists of The Gay Travel Guru job search to Aspen, CO. The Finalists will be participating in the 36th annual Aspen Gay Ski Week events.
The 5 remaining Guru finalists will be flown from their hometown to Aspen in January, where their Gay Travel Guru skills will be put to the ultimate test. The finalists will participate in a variety of activities during the week. Each finalist will be hosting dinners and events, greeting guests at the Sundeck Party, and entering the Downhill Costume Contest. They will also be asked to create a video about Aspen including some of the cities coolest hotel properties.
Social media skills will be extremely important for the Guru finalists during Ski Week. While the finalists are hitting the slopes in Aspen their fans will be hitting the gaytravel.com website and casting their votes for the finalists.
On Saturday morning the selected guest judges will deliberate and make a decision based on the finalist’s efforts during Gay Ski Week, their videos from the previous rounds, and the public voting totals. Later that night during Saturday’s Après-Ski party the new Guru will be announced live to the patrons of Gay Ski Week.
The selected Gay Travel Guru will spend the next 6 months traveling on behalf of gaytravel.com and the LGBT community. Their journey will be shared via gaytravel.com and its extended network of media partners. The Guru will be rewarded with all expenses paid trips throughout the world and a $30,000 salary.
The staff at gaytravel.com is as excited about the finale as the finalists as they will be joining the Gurus during their week of challenges and appearances.
“By moving our finale to Aspen Gay Ski Week this year it really makes all our finalists a winner!” Says Joey Konecek the Community Director for gaytravel.com. “The finale is an extremely important time for us to gauge what each finalist has to offer if selected for the position.”
