Renovo’s platform simplifies administration so that the distance learning staff can spend more time helping make the human connections that support learning...

Video Scheduler, Renovo Software’s video conference management platform, can now be used to schedule, manage, and automate LifeSize Bridge. Texas Education Service Center Region 13 (ESC13) will be the first to take advantage of this new development. The collaboration was driven by mutual customers utilizing both Video Scheduler and LifeSize Bridge to support their interactive video conferencing networks.
ESC13, based out of Austin, Texas, encompasses 60 school districts, 18 charter schools, 19 private schools, and 8 higher education institutions. “Our video conferencing network helps us foster collaboration among member schools and connect them to opportunities around the globe,” stated Carol Teitelman, ESC13’s Distance Learning Coordinator. “Renovo’s platform simplifies administration so that the distance learning staff can spend more time helping make the human connections that support learning for all students in the region.”
Video Scheduler provides users and administrators of video conferencing networks with the tools to effectively manage network and video hardware, conference spaces, and other resources through a simple web-based interface. “Our customers gain from a whole host of services,” explains Ted Nafzger, Video Scheduler Sales Manager at Renovo Software. “Everything from MCU load balancing and conflict checking to custom scheduling templates and network utilization reports—ultimately, these all add up to increased collaboration and improved efficiency. We’re excited to extend our platform and all of its time-saving features to organizations like ESC13 that utilize LifeSize Bridge.”
Video Scheduler includes a multitude of those time-saving features. MCU Queuing creates stability by allowing scheduling infinitely into the future and placing conferences on the MCU a preset amount of time in advance. MCU failover allows conferences to be quickly moved from one MCU to another. Privilege and access rights management, endpoint and MCU approval, automated notices, and live network maintenance simplify network administration further. Additionally, scheduling is streamlined by allowing users to create reservations that are regularly recurring or with multiple instances at irregular intervals. Old or existing reservations can be copied, and individual instances can be edited within multiple and recurring reservations. Administrators can even set up custom time blocks and durations for user groups.
“By interoperating seamlessly with Renovo’s Video Scheduler, we are pleased to offer enriching educational opportunities to the students of ESC 13, as well as a more simplified experience for instructors and IT administrators within the organization,” said Michael Helmbrecht, Vice President and General Manager of Video Solutions for LifeSize. “Ultimately, we engineer our video collaboration solutions to provide the best user experience possible, and by working in tandem with Renovo’s software, we are pleased that students, instructors and staff can achieve their goals and build better relationships through the use of this technology.”
