Straub Construction Company, Inc. has recently won seven local and national awards. Named "General Contractor of the Year" and receiving four Excellence in Construction Awards as well as a Preservation Honor Award nicely ends 2012 for the Kansas City construction company.

Straub Construction Company, Inc. has recently been honored with seven local and national awards. The Heart of America Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has awarded Straub Construction Company, Inc. with the Top Project honor for St. Michael Hall at Benedictine College during their 2012 Excellence in Construction competition. Straub also won three category awards. The award-winning projects are: St. Michael Hall (Atchison, KS) in the Residential category, McCook Event Center (McCook, NE) in the Institutional category and Jackson County Animal Shelter (Independence, MO) in the Commercial category. Straub has won 23 local Excellence in Construction awards and two national awards for their projects over the last 17 years.

Straub Construction Company, Inc. was also named “General Contractor of the Year” by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Heart of America Chapter for the third straight year. This award is given out to firms who demonstrate the organization’s values and principles, are involved in legislative activity and committee work, and are leaders to others. Company President Ernest Straub III and Executive Vice President Parker Young have also been praised for their dedication, commitment and achievements in the organization and were honored with the 2012 Arthur C. Waugh Keystone Award.

The Eisenhower Ridge Building 19 project in Leavenworth, Kansas also won the Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation during the 2012 National Preservation Conference in November. The 125-year-old property, a former Civil War mess hall, was adapted to a state-of-the-art office building while preserving the beautiful historic elements.
