Dalton, Georgia (PRWEB) December 19, 2012

Synthetic Turf International (STI) is pleased to announce that its installation at the City of Refuge in Atlanta, Georgia won the Grand Prize, Community Parks Category for the 2012 Search for the Field of Dreams Contest. Headquartered in Dalton, Georgia, STI is one of the leading manufacturers and installers of synthetic turf used for landscape, golf, pet turf, playgrounds and indoor sports facilities throughout North America.

Conducted by the Synthetic Turf Council, the annual, national contest searches for the community park or school with the most compelling story behind its synthetic turf field or play area. Since 1997, the City of Refuge in downtown Atlanta has offered both life‐saving resources and life building tools to individuals and families who have been living on the margin.

“Our company focuses on helping people enjoy a greener world through the highest quality synthetic turf,” noted Dakota Harp, President of Synthetic Turf International. “We are thrilled to help the children at the City of Refuge enjoy beautiful, grass-like play areas in their indoor facility.”

The City of Refuge is located in an urban area where it is virtually impossible to play outside in a secure environment. In May of 2012, Synthetic Turf International and its parent company, Controlled Products, donated and installed a large indoor play area at the non-profit organization designed to give the children it serves a safe place to play year round. The turf area is the beginning of an entire wing dedicated to its kids that receives support from The Arthur Blank Foundation and the Peachtree Road United Methodist’s Women’s Association.
