Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 26, 2012

On December 26, 2012, travel company Surf Patch released a statement following a New York Times article by Joe Sharkey, regarding the TSA skipping out on a hearing about terminating the TSA so passengers can flyclear of hassle.

According to the New York Times article, the TSA chose not to attend a hearing regarding the termination of the TSA. The article states that, TSA did not show up to the hearing because they said oversight of the TSA is done by the House of Homeland Security and not the aviation subcommittee.

According to Chairman of the House Transportation Committee, John L. Mica, “The TSA is out of control. We need to be closing down T.S.A. as we know it.” The article mentions that airports are given the option of replacing TSA screeners with private security companies, and only 16 of the 450 airports in the U.S. have made the switch.

The President of the Association of Flight Attendants union backed the TSA by mentioning how safe the skies are, and that replacing them will put the passengers safety at risk.

Travel company Surf Patch released a statement with how they believe the TSA is for best for passengers to flyclear of danger. “There have been some incidents with the TSA, but overall they keep the skies and passengers safer, no matter how much scrutiny they receive,” says world traveler Takara Licausi.
