Susan Baroncini-Moe, President of Business in Blue Jeans, a Midwest-based business and marketing consulting firm, says 2013 will be a good year for small businesses.

Baroncini-Moe, whose book, "Business in Blue Jeans: How to Have a Successful Business on Your Own Terms, in Your Own Style," is due out in May, 2013, says businesses will see their businesses grow in the coming year, as long as they’re doing the right things to make it happen.

“2013 will be a better year for business, but small businesses and entrepreneurs shouldn't look for the easy way out, just because the economy is improving,” said Baroncini-Moe from her home office in Indianapolis, Indiana, “They have to keep doing all the right things, like knowing who their ideal customers are and really going after the business. You can’t beat the value of a smart marketing campaign.”

Baroncini-Moe went on to say, “The fact is, the economic challenges we've all faced have separated the wheat from the chaff in business. The businesses that knew how to serve their customers, get them through the doors, and make them really happy will continue to prosper and will do so even more in the coming year. And, 2013 will be a great time to start a business. People are feeling more confident in the economy and safer in pursuing entrepreneurial dreams.”

Baroncini-Moe was quick to caution entrepreneurs not to quit their day jobs just yet, however. “The worst thing you can do is to quit your job before your business is able to support you. It’s just irresponsible. Keep your day job until you can safely make the transition. Let your passion and your drive be the thing that keeps you inspired throughout 2013.”

Susan Baroncini-Moe has been a business and marketing strategist since 1997. In her three-pronged consulting firm, she helps startups and “would be entrepreneurs” via a unique fusion of coaching and consulting, provides marketing advice to professionals in service industries, and consults with corporate leaders on relationship marketing, employee engagement, and customer service. She also speaks regularly to corporations and groups on topics relating to relationship marketing, business fundamentals, and employee engagement, and is the author of "Business in Blue Jeans," due out in May, 2013. Susan lives with her husband, Leo, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
