At 45’ x 127’ x 12’, the West Monroe, LA-based facility measures 5715 square feet and features a 2:12 roof slope, a Polar White Super Span X roof and walls and two 45’ transverse partitions to separate the male and female crickets housed within. The building also includes multiple windows for ventilation to accommodate the additional heat given off by the crickets as they grow.
Contractor Tommy Kountz, owner of Louisiana’s T.K. Steel Buildings, LLC, selected Whirlwind for the job after a two-decade relationship. Citing his comfort with the company and the high-quality customer care he received, Kountz said, “The customer service was great all the way along.” Both companies look forward to partnering together on future projects.
