As our folding electric bike targets youthful, professional urban commuters, this is the perfect venue to get critical input from attendees; strategic, future thinkers who come to SXSW to see new products and provide their feedback.

Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) March 12, 2012

Conscious Commuter Corporation, a startup focused on reinventing the electric bike as part of a multi-modal transit system promoting sustainable commuting, was invited by SXSW to be the featured electric bike this year in the Green Zone (located at the intersection of 7th Street and Red River).

“It is great to be back at SXSW following Conscious Commuter™ hosting a thought leadership panel on “Solving the First and Last Mile Commuter Problem” at the inaugural SXSW Eco Conference in September 2011,” stated Bob Vander Woude, President and CEO. “As our folding electric bike targets youthful, professional urban commuters, this is the perfect venue to get critical input from attendees; strategic, future thinkers who come to SXSW to see new products and provide their feedback.“

Conscious Commuter will be partnering with Sol Design Lab to demonstrate the arrival of personal sustainable transportation for the modern urban commuter. Conscious Commuter’s sustainable transportation solution combines folding electric bikes that empower the commuter with independent mobility, powered by renewable energy at solar powered charging stations. Conscious Commuter’s folding e-bikes will be ridden by SXSW attendees and then recharged at Sol Design Lab’s SolarPump Charging Station, a project designed to charge electric bicycles, scooters, laptops, cell phones or iPods, while providing LED lighting and public seating.

“Sol Design Lab is an example of efforts to build integrated systems to promote green transport,” added Gabriel Wartofsky, co-founder and CTO. “Partnering with Sol Design Lab gives us the opportunity to showcase a practical, seamless and sustainable urban commuting solution, highlighting the importance of not just having an electric bike, but one that can be part of a larger transportation solution, utilizing solar power.”

Attendees are invited to come a take a test ride daily from noon to 11:00pm starting Wednesday, March 13 through Saturday, March 17, 2012.
