‘Offering a space for men, teaching classes for men that incorporate poses and practices considering the male anatomy, gives men a place to succeed and feel good about themselves.’ says studio owner Joschi Schwarz.

The UK’s Telegraph reports more and more men are turning to yoga to deal with stress and gain an edge over business competitors. Some of the most successful men in the world are yogis, among them billionaire investors Guy Hands and Bill Ross, former Obama Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emanuel as well as multimillionaire founder of Def Jam Russell Simmons.

Originally, when yoga began in India thousands of years ago, it was practiced only by men; a discipline designed by men for men.

Today, yoga in the U.S. is often viewed as ‘girly’, but aside from its reputation of not being masculine enough, most classes don’t cater to men’s specific needs. The male body has vastly different challenges than female bodies and Le Male Yoga makes that a priority.

‘Offering a space for men, teaching classes that incorporate poses and practices considering the male anatomy, gives men a place to succeed and feel good about themselves.’ says studio owner Joschi Schwarz. ‘Lots of us are reluctant to attend classes where we are in the minority, especially classes that emphasize chanting and ‘touchy feely’ awareness.’

It is the objective of Le Male Yoga to provide a more accessible style of yoga that is athletic and workout based. Classes like Power Flow focus on giving men a dynamic experience within the tenets of the yogic philosophy, but in a more attainable and straightforward approach, adjusted to the challenges of the world we live in now.

Power Flow Yoga for Men: Look your best and expect gains in mental clarity while building strength, stamina and sexual capacity.

This class is for guys who want a demanding, athletic workout, but find traditional yoga classes far too slow. Power Flow combines an action-packed sequence of twists, hip openers and arm balances with powerful breathing techniques in order to sculpt your body, strengthen your core and increase lung capacity.

Men usually have a difficult time with hip-opening poses, hamstring and lower back stretches… ‘Tragically Hip’ Power Flow pays special attention to the male anatomy and physiology, and gives these areas some extra TLC.

You are in for a fun and sweat-infused experience with eclectic music. During the workout the studio will be washed in the colors of a rainbow using a unique LED-light system to harmonize and enhance our body’s energy centers (chakras).
