Quick turnaround is important, but accuracy and excellence are even more so. We strive to provide all three.

Savannah Skin Pathology, the area’s first dermatopathology lab, has opened to meet the growing needs of the Savannah skincare community. Conveniently located near Medical Arts, the lab provides quick turnaround on skin samples for dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons and skin cancer professionals.

Lab director and board certified dermatopathologist Dr. Susan Holland earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry at Furman University before completing her medical school and Pathology residency at the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine. She received her Dermatopathology Fellowship at the prestigious Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in New York City before moving to Savannah with her husband, Dr. Bracey Holland.

“Savannah’s medical community has been growing steadily, both in size and in the availability of specialized medical care,” said Dr. Holland. “I thought it was time to make specialized dermatopathology services available to area practitioners working with skin.”

Savannah Skin Pathology is the first area lab with a board-certified dermatopathologist, and can therefore offer services including frozen section processing, immunoperoxidase staining and special staining. Daily courier pickup ensures specimens are returned with the speed and efficiency that only a local lab can provide.

“Quick turnaround is important,” continued Dr. Holland, “but accuracy and excellence are even more so. We strive to provide all three.”

Savannah Skin Pathology is an independent dermatopathology lab owned and directed by board-certified dermatopathologist Dr. Susan Holland. Savannah Skin Pathology is located at 7001 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Suite 5. For more information visit or call 912-349-7656.
