Bloomington, MN (PRWEB) June 17, 2012
Gittleman Management Corporation, a FirstService Management Company, received the highest honors for its founder, Mel Gittleman, and property manager Spike Squire, as both received prominent awards and recognition at the annual Community Association Institute of Minnesota (CAI-MN) Vision Awards ceremony on June 7, 2012.
Gittleman, a homeowner association management industry pioneer and innovator, earned a prestigious Lifetime Achievement award for his numerous contributions to association living and residential lifestyles over the course of his long career. He founded the Minnesota property management company in 1980, which has grown to become one of the premier community association management companies in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul region.
“Day in and day out, Mel offered his compelling vision for community living, dedication to clients, and commitment to quality, until his retirement in 2009,” said Tracey Lehman, incoming CAI-MN president, as she presented the award.
“A key part of his success was the dedication and commitment to clients he fostered among employees of the company, which helped set a standard of quality and excellence within the industry. Mel enjoyed and maintained many ongoing, long-term relationships with clients over the years, and contributed to creating a high quality of life within their communities.”
Gittleman property manager Spike Squire, who handles property management responsibilities for the Carlyle, a luxury high rise condominium in downtown Minneapolis, was recognized as the industry Rookie of the Year. This coveted award is presented to managers with less than two years of industry experience for demonstrating outstanding performance. Squire was recognized for a number of outstanding accomplishments, including his highly regarded weekly newsletter to homeowners, as well as his dedication to enforcing policies that are important to both residents and the community.
Three additional Gittleman managers were also nominated for awards by clients and colleagues for their exceptional work as Association Managers. They include Lisa Astleford, CMCA, AMS and Paul Lawson, CMCA, AMS for the Outstanding Excellence in Service Award; and Han Tran, CMCA for the Rookie of the Year Award.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Gittleman Management employees and executives have been honored by CAI-MN award for outstanding service contributions to the Minneapolis property management industry.
