Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 04, 2012
The Directory Journal Web directory features an updated and simplified design, the ability to submit social media profiles, and more opportunities for website visitors to connect. Companies targeting local audiences can now also include contact details for Google Maps integration with their submissions.
“The way people search the Web is constantly changing,” said Hasan Saleem, owner of DirJournal.com. “That doesn't only mean changes for search engines. Web directories also have to adapt to help businesses reach their local markets and reach out through social media. Some of our recent changes are designed to do that."
Websites and business owners requesting permanent submissions to The Directory Journal may include links to their Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, and LinkedIn accounts. These social media profile inclusions do not count as their main website submission, so there is no need to submit these profiles as separate links for directory consideration.
Other recent changes to The Directory Journal include a cleaner design, more obvious ways for visitors to connect in a social media box on the homepage, increased commissions for affiliates of the website from 20 to 25 percent, and a simplified submission page.
