Celestix, a global leader in simplifying complex IT security solutions today announced a number of new features for their HOTPin authentication server.

HOTPin is the third generation of Celestix’s product suite that delivers a flexible and comprehensive range of two-factor authentication options. In addition to one time password generation via soft token and also a clientless option via SMS, Celestix has added support for hardware tokens and on screen authentication via virtual keyboard while maintaining their intelligent price model.

In addition the core functionality of both the soft token and clientless form factors has been extended to include QR code key import, multi-tenancy and SMS send ahead for authentication even when the user is out of network coverage. The administrator’s experience has also been simplified by the addition of AD synchronization, a comprehensive reporting console and a user self-provisioning site.

“One of the many challenges facing businesses today is how to prevent identity theft. The increase in cloud computing and the use of consumer devices in the workplace further compound the risk”, says Aseem Asthana, Director of Product Management of Celestix. “HOTPin helps organizations to combat identity theft whilst leveraging the use of consumer style mobile devices”.

The ability to embrace and maximize investment in consumerized IT or BYOD is essential as trends in enterprise computing continue to diversify.

“Our users find HOTPin easy to use the product because it runs as a soft token on their smart phones. This not only increased user adoption of the technology, it also allows them to carry one less corporate device, simplifying their lives and lowering instances of token loss and helpdesk calls” says Larry Magtoto, Director of Information Technology of Ocean Media.
