Houston, TX (PRWEB) August 31, 2012

Athletic Orthopedic Knee Center (AOKC) is offering free sports injury evaluations for student athletes in their Saturday morning injury clinics. The clinics will run from 8:00am-12:00pm. The free evaluations will be offered every Saturday during football season: Aug-18, Aug- 25, Sept-1, Sept-8, Sept-15, Sept-22, Sept- 29, Oct-6, Oct-13, Oct-20, Oct-27, Nov-3, Nov-10, Nov-17.

The purpose of AOKC’s Saturday Morning Clinic is to better meet the needs of the community by making their physicians and staff available at times when all other medical facilities are not open. Students who are injured during a Friday night game can make an appointment to be seen the following morning rather than waiting for Monday. “When treating sports injuries, speed is very important. Our goal is to get every athlete healthy and back into the game as quickly as possible,” said Dr. Jack Jensen, owner and founder of AOK Medical Center.

AOKC’s Saturday Morning Clinics offer the following services:

●    Sports Injury Evaluation
●    Injury Evaluation/Treatment
●    Pre-Sport Physicals
●    Physical Therapy
●    Athletic Training
●    Imaging, X-Ray, CAT Scan

There are physicians on site, as well as orthopedic specialists available if necessary. If the initial evaluation shows any injury, the extra required services will be added to the student’s school or personal insurance. A completed school insurance form, if being used, must be shown before these services can be provided.

AOK Medical Center is also excited to be launching the V.I.P. Club, a program that will assist parents, medical teams, and coaches who work with the student athlete to have better communication. “We believe that good communication between the athlete, doctors, parents, and coaches is essential, not only for treating a current sports injury, but also preventing future injuries as well,” said Dr. Jensen.

AOKC Sports Medicine physicians are respected for their surgical, non-surgical and diagnostic treatment of orthopedic injuries. AOKC’s orthopedic physicians serve as team physicians for many of the Houston area schools.
