Olympic figure skating champion, Kristi Yamaguchi, has recently launched a new fashion line, featuring t shirts, leggings, jackets and other garments for active wear. Entitled Tsu.ya after her grandmother, as well as a nod to her Japanese heritage, Yamaguchi claims her thoughts behind the idea lie in her desire to give something back to the community and plans to give a portion of proceeds back to her charity, Always Dream Foundation, which supports childhood literacy.
The team at leading UK company, 8 Ball, are well known for their tireless dedication to industry updates and developments, and so naturally they received the news with great interest. A representative from 8 Ball shares their thoughts on the matter.
“We’re starting to notice more and more people in the public eye turn their hand towards t shirt design. What’s really great in this instance is that Kristi is planning to use the opportunity to make money for a good cause.”
He goes on to explain how 8 Ball themselves make regular contributions to charity.
“For every 100 Banksy t shirts we sell we make donations to a chosen charity. Our customers really love his iconic prints and knowing part of their money is going towards a good cause is an extra reason to make a purchase.”
