The results from the new study conducted by a team of scientists at the University of Pennsylvania reported showing that Alzheimer’s is linked to insulin resistance in the brain. The study which appeared in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, revealed that memory function fails in the presence of insulin shortage, and that Alzheimer’s patients have lower levels of insulin and that their brains are insulin resistant. “What is most surprising are the results we didn’t expect,” said Pat Flynn, “Alzheimer’s has classically been identified as a hereditary disease, but recent research suggests this may not be the case.”
Pat Flynn, the founder of ChroniclesOfStrength.com and leading proponent of the modern day fasting movement went on to say, “What does this mean? Far more people are now at risk for developing Alzheimer’s later on in life than previously thought. This shows that people need more reliable information on effective nutritional practices, such as fasting, to prevent them from making decisions that may cost them their health.”
Some typical questions that Pat Flynn will be answering in his Chronicles Of Strength blog are: Does eating sugar really cause Alzheimer’s? It sounds like you’re saying that Alzheimer’s is something that can be prevented. I thought it was a hereditary disease? What are the biggest misconceptions that people have about Alzheimer’s and Dementia? You say that one little tweak in somebody’s diet can greatly reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. What is it? What else can people be doing to ward off the odds of developing Alzheimer’s later on in life?
