Company registrations are on the rise in Poole

The rise in company registrations that we have seen so far this year is a fantastic sign that the economy of Poole is doing well, despite challenging conditions.

UK (PRWEB UK) 23 September 2012

Poole: During the first half of 2012, Poole has seen a record-breaking number of company formations. Data in the latest Duport Business Confidence Report reveals that 908 new companies were registered between January and June, a 3.5% rise on the same period last year.

Second quarter data for Poole is also impressive, with 462 companies being registered - more than any second quarter on record for the town.

Growth in company registrations could be linked to the burgeoning tourist trade in Poole. Sandbanks beach was recently judged “almost perfect” by The Tidy Britain Group and consistently wins the EC Blue Flag, which rates beaches on water quality, safety, environmental education and information, the provision of services and general environmental management.

Hotel occupancy rates are above the regional and national average, and the town has in place a Tourism Strategy that aims to “maintain and enhance the quality of Poole’s natural resources that are the foundation of the tourism ‘product’.”

The report from Duport contains further good news for Poole in terms of UK company share. There has been a small rise from 0.3% to 0.4% when comparing the first six months of 2011 and 2012.

“The rise in company registrations that we have seen so far this year is a fantastic sign that the economy of Poole is doing well, despite challenging conditions,” said Peter Valaitis, Managing Director of Duport.co.uk.

“The council is wise to exploit the tourism potential of the town, especially with more people choosing to holiday in the UK at the moment.”

New companies setting up in Poole will benefit from tourist trade, and as they grow and develop, they will bring more jobs and wealth to the town, helping to secure an economically successful future for the area.
