Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q® (SCNB) is proud to announce their support of the 8th Annual Ava Gardner Festival scheduled for October 5-7. The festival celebrates a Hollywood film legend, Ava Gardner, who is as much a part of the rich history of Smithfield, NC and Johnston County as the popular Eastern North Carolina bar-b-q restaurant brand.

As the official corporate sponsor of the 8th Annual Ava Gardner Festival, the financial support that Smithfield’s Chicken ‘N Bar-B-Q®’s has contributed to this year's festival will help to underwrite the costs of festival programming. This sponsorship will ensure that this weekend of family-friendly events, vintage movies, and historic Hollywood storytelling will remain a much-anticipated event year after year in Downtown Smithfield.

The 8th Annual Ava Gardner Festival is scheduled for October 5-7, 2012 and will commemorate Ava Gardner and three time film co-star Gregory Peck’s life-long friendship with new exhibits, heritage tours, and vintage movies in Downtown Smithfield, centered around the Ava Gardner Museum.

Donna Bailey-Taylor, Executive Director of the Johnston County Visitors Bureau says, “we are so excited to work with Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q® as the title sponsor for this year's festival. From the opening ‘Great Sinner’ Gala on Friday to the Heritage Tours and movie showings at the Ava Gardner Museum, it’s going to be a fabulous weekend!"

The Ava Gardner Museum is located in downtown Smithfield, at 325 E. Market Street. More information may be found on the museum website, http://www.AvaGardner.org or call 919-934-5830 to purchase tickets in advance. The museum is open Monday-Saturday, 9-5pm and Sunday 2pm-5pm.
