Today, the Florida Region of USA Volleyball is excited to announce the first grass volleyball tour stop of the year to be held in Tampa on Saturday, September 29. The Grass Volleyball Challenge will include both competitive and recreational playing divisions for adult players.
Partnering with the Florida Region of USA Volleyball is PowerPlay Volleyball. The tournament will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Belleair Recreation Center in Tampa. Team check-in will begin at 8:30am and play will begin at 9:00am. Teams will participate in pool play during the morning matches and then a single elimination playoff in the afternoon. Prizes will be presented to the winners in each division.
Teams in the competitive division will consist of 4 players per team and are required to have 1 female on the court during play. The team fee for competitive teams will be $120 for regular registration and $200 for “VIP” registration. Teams in the recreational division will consist of 6 players per team and are required to have 2 females on the court during play. The team fee for recreational teams will be $200 for regular registration and $300 for “VIP” registration. VIP teams will be provided with t-shirts, as well as lunch, drinks and a shade tent throughout the tournament. Online registration for this event will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 27.
