ACG Brasil held their inaugural event as a chapter on September 25 in São Paulo. In addition to ACG global leaders traveling from the United States, the breakfast meeting features three high level executives from the corporate world in Brasil, Luis Eugenio Figueiredo (Rio Bravo), Raul Rosenthal (M2 Holdings) and Marcelo Borges (Rodobens).

“The addition of this chapter in Brasil opens new doors for all ACG members,” said Brian Gilbreath, vice president, Midwest and Latin America for Merrill DataSite and a leader behind the inception of the chapter. “Connections and inroads into a new market will now be accessible through ACG’s Member Center and I am proud to have played a role in starting this chapter.”

ACG has expanded into other international locations within the past 18 months including China, Spain, UK and has plans to create inroads in India.

“ACG continues to support global expansion as a key to continued growth and success of its members,” said Chuck Morton, chairman, ACG Global Board of Directors and a partner at Venable LLP. “It is ACGs first expansion into the southern hemisphere and all the deals that are taking place in this part of the world. It’s an exciting opportunity for all ACG members.”

“As cross-border dealmaking continues to grow in importance to our membership, we will seek to launch additional chapters in key markets,” said Gary LaBranche, president and CEO of ACG. “The ACG Board of Directors continues to work to fulfill the strategic goals set forth by the organization and this push will be a major focus for 2013.”

Photos and a recap from the inaugural event will be available in early October upon request.
