International Hanger, a premier provider of custom clothes hangers to major retailers, high-profile designer brands and hotels, such as Macy’s, Ralph Lauren, Omni and Hilton, announced that it has acquired the Great American Hanger Company. The acquisition expands the 22-year-old Austin-based company’s success in business-to-business markets to online consumers and residential customers. As part of the agreement, the Great American Hanger Company’s employees and business office in Miami, FL are now part of International Hanger.

The Great American Hanger Company was established in the late 1990s and saw immediate success in building a business model based on selling hangers through Internet storefronts, most notably and The company also touts many celebrities as key customers.

International Hanger plans to focus on growing the online business through its disciplined approach to managing costs and inventory. Lemke also has a background in online retail as the major owner of Nuo Tech, a designer and distributor of fashion-forward and eco-friendly cases for laptop computers, iPad’s and e-reader devices. Its products are sold in Staples stores across the United States, on and through many online resellers.

Previous acquisitions by International Hanger have broadened both its customer base and its product line. The purchase of Montrose Hanger in 2005 expanded the company’s presence in the hotel market and brought folding luggage stands into its line.
