The majority of brides are still planning their own weddings. When planning one of the most memorable days of their lives, many brides are overwhelmed with plans and details, making the wedding more of a final escape from planning than a happy event. MyFoxAL.com recently released their list of wedding day details not to miss, so Do the Bride a Favor has created their own detail list to help brides get the most out of their big day.

1.    Be clear with favors. Every bride spends time thinking of an original and imaginative token to give guests on her wedding day. Many times, however, these custom wedding favors are overlooked or forgotten, leaving the bride with a pile of favors left over. When planning the favor, be sure to include clear signage that these are for the guests to keep. Perhaps in a designated area that says “Linda’s wedding. Please take me home. Thank you for coming!”

2.    Think of the kids. Children are usually welcome at a wedding. However, they can cause interruptions. When planning your ceremony, be sure to include plans for the kids, whether this be crayons and paper available for drawing or a separate area for children to play in.

3.    Be selective about your photographer. The photographer you choose will be deciding on the moments that you will be displaying and remembering forever. Make sure your photographer is well-qualified and has work that you enjoy looking at. Be sure to forward your photographer pose ideas that you’d like to incorporate into your wedding shoot.

4.    Love the dress. Finding the perfect dress for your wedding day may seem like an incredible task, but keep a few things in mind. Firstly, any dress can be tailored, so if you find a dress that you love but are having issues with the fit, ask about the tailoring service. Secondly, be sure to choose a wedding dress based on how you, the bride, feel in it. Whether your dress is a hand-me-down or a $7,000 gown, feeling beautiful and comfortable in your dress is incredibly important. Be sure to include some personal details in your outfit, like a special pair of shoes or an heirloom piece of jewelry.

Planning a wedding can seem next to impossible. However, by keeping a few details in mind you will ensure that your wedding day runs smoothly and that you will have pleasant memories for years to come.

Do the Bride a Favor releases their list of wedding day details that no bride should overlook.
