NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) January 03, 2013
Hope For The Warriors® is proud to accept a $100,000 grant over two years from Newman’s Own Foundation to support their Above & Beyond Professional Program. Newman’s Own Foundation is the independent foundation created by the late actor and philanthropist, Paul Newman. The award to Hope For The Warriors® reflects the ongoing commitment of Newman’s Own Foundation to organizations serving military service personnel, veterans, and their families.
“We are proud of the men and women who have made innumerable sacrifices in service to our country,” said Robert Forrester, President of Newman’s Own Foundation. “For nearly 20 years, we have been supporting the organizations that help our nation’s troops and their families. This funding is intended to further the impact that our grantees are having in the lives of individuals and families in their time of need.”
Hope For The Warriors® is a national nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen. Their Above & Beyond Program provides the professional tools and one-on-one guidance for wounded service members to transfer their military skills into the civilian workplace. Participants will develop a personal and professional plan customized to individual needs and interests. These plans may encompass both life and career goals and may include continuing education, employment opportunities and business development.
In addition to individual support, the Above & Beyond Program holds seminars in key locations across the country to work with groups of wounded service members and to build skills for their transition out of the military. The grant from Newman’s Own Foundation will enable Hope For The Warriors® to increase the number of seminars held throughout the year.
“Hope For The Warriors® is extremely thankful to Newman’s Own Foundation for their support to our organization and to all wounded service members,” Robin Kelleher, Hope For The Warriors® President said. “This grant will help us support wounded service members during their time of transition out of the military.”
Paul Newman established the Foundation bearing his name in 2005, as a means of continuing his pledge to donate to charity all net profits and royalties from the sale of products from Newman’s Own, Inc. Since the food company’s founding in 1982, Newman and Newman’s Own Foundation have donated more than $350 million to thousands of charities worldwide.
