"I am very pleased to assist the HCDB Board of Directors in their capital campaign and ongoing need for volunteers and donations."
Boerne, Texas (PRWEB) January 29, 2013
The Cyr Family Charitable Fund co-founder, Mrs. Le Ann M. Cyr, M.Ed. announced the commitment for assistance, contributions and networking for the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries. Mrs. Cyr said, "I can think of no charity more deserving of our efforts than Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries." HCDB plays a unique role among charities in Central Texas through distribution of goods to individuals and families in need, but also providing spiritual guidance and assistance to lift families out of poverty. This unique organization and partnership is well founded in the tenants of the Cyr Family Charitable Fund giving criteria.
Epitomizing the Hill Country Daily Bread mission, "Your neighbor needs you"… It’s hard to believe the number of people living below the poverty line in the Hill County is an estimated 42,000 and 15,000 are children under 18 yrs! There is plenty of work to do in order to provide for and provide a transitional process to help families gain a better life.
HCDB helps neighbors; single mothers; children under 18 years of age; elderly persons (often caring for their grandchildren); people who are disabled or suffering from chronic illness; and working, low-income families where most are suffering from food insecurity and poverty. the number of people helped numbers in the thousands per month, and millions of dollars are distributed each year.
People must often choose between… paying for food vs. utilities, heating, housing and medical bills. (Source: SA Food Bank, Trinity University Study). They live in our rural communities where poverty is often hidden from the average person, desperate levels of poverty in the following counties: Bexar, Kendall, Bandera, Kerr, Comal, Gillespie Uvalde, and Medina.
Studies show that new relationships, not free things, are what really impact the vicious cycle of poverty. HCDB has the privilege as neighbors to walk along side families and children in crisis and poverty as a friend and church family and provide them with physical, emotional and spiritual support.
With the presence of consistent loving support, families, children and individuals gain life skills and resources to go from hopelessness to hope and from dependence and need to wholeness and dependence on Christ. HCDB creates opportunity for people to meet needs…and through Christ centered relationships break the cycle of poverty. ”A generous man will himself be blessed if he shares his food with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9
The Cyr Family Charitable Fund was founded to assist in the giving process. The continuous requests from friends, family and organizations required a way to organize and administer the giving process. The Cyr Fund continues to give, consistent with the beliefs and desires to do the most good. This plan focuses giving on:
1.) Christian based charities,
2.) Education, especially conservative Christian based education,
3.) Medical needs, and
4.) Military, such as the Wounded Warrior Program.
