Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) January 03, 2013

Safeway Safety Step today announced that it has partnered with Link·age to market Safeway’s bath accessibility products to the organization’s more than 600 member senior living communities and their 300,000 residents. Link·age staff and staff from member communities select and approve Resource Partners, which are evaluated to ensure they provide optimized service, value and pricing. Through its relationships, Link·age aims to connect its senior living providers and its members aging-in-place with resources, products and services that will enhance their businesses and lives.

As a Resource Partner, Safeway Safety Step will provide Link·age members with discounted products and free installation training for facility personnel, as well as complete installation services at discounted rates. Safeway Safety Step also has a program that provides discounts for residential installations completed for Link·age members' home health care clients.

“Link·age and its members are very selective about the companies that we choose as Resource Partners, and because of Safeway’s experience and reputation working with senior living communities, it made sense to create a relationship that would create value for our members,” said Debbie Hounshell, director of communications and member services for Link·age. “Link·age has multiple members that have already used Safeway’s products and their positive endorsement will also help our other members to feel comfortable with evaluating the products to determine if they are right for their residents. We look forward to working with Safeway to help our members understand the benefits of its products and services.”

“There is a tremendous demand at senior living communities for products and services that improve accessibility and safety for aging and disabled residents,” said Chris Stafford, president of Safeway Safety Step. “Through our partnership with Link·age, we have the opportunity to work with a respected organization that is committed to the success of people and organizations involved with managed care. Our products are being implemented in communities and facilities across the country, and are recognized as safe and affordable bathtub accessibility solutions for elderly and individuals who suffer from arthritis, injury, handicap, and other mobility challenges.”

Regarding Safeway Safety Step, Link·age Principal Member, Dayton, Ohio-based Graceworks Lutheran Services Site Manager Alice Ballard commented, “I have had all around good experiences with Safeway Safety Step; they have been dependable and kind after they installed their step in tub. It has made a true difference for our residents, as they now feel safer getting in and out of their tubs. I have been using Safeway Safety Step for over eight years and I can truly recommend their service to anyone, and I feel they will get the same great service that I have gotten.”

Safeway’s bath accessibility products include the Safeway Step® and Safeway Tub Door®. The Safeway Step converts an existing bathtub into a permanent walk-in shower. It is installed by cutting a section of an existing tub and custom fitting the resulting opening with a Safeway Step®, creating a pass-through of 24-inches wide by eight-inches deep. The Safeway Tub Door® adds a watertight sealable door to an existing bathtub, providing easy and safe access into the tub and maintaining the integrity and original purpose of the tub. Both Safeway Step® and Safeway Tub Door® can be installed in most types of bathtubs, including fiberglass, steel and cast iron, in only a few hours.
