Credit Card Rap, in which four singers describe how the banks made a big mistake by reducing their credit line, has just been released by Gini Graham Scott, a successful book writer who turned her experiences in overcoming the mortgage mess into a series of music videos and a book telling her story. As the Credit Card Rap music video describes, by reducing their credit, the singers, like Gini Scott, could no longer pay their mortgage. But they moved on, left the banks owing more than they gained, found a new community bank for their future banking, and discovered it costs less to pay cash.
The video is a follow-up to another humorous music video, Bad Bad Banks, about how Wells Fargo and the Bank of America triggered a default and house sale by reducing Gini’s credit line. In it, four singers talk about how the bank “took my house and then my car,” but they came out ahead in the mortgage game by walking away from their debts and credit cards, going bankrupt, and afterwards paying cash.

While creating the videos, Gini Graham Scott wrote up her experiences in a book about her year of Living in Limbo: From the End to New Beginnings -- experiences which have many parallels with the over 12 million people who have faced underwater mortgages or foreclosures due to the economic crisis of the last few years.
