London (PRWEB UK) 9 January 2013
Ixxus today announced that it has been commissioned by Bright Assessing to create a new learning management system (LMS) for the business, replacing legacy software using the open source content management platform, Alfresco.
Bright Assessing specialises in delivering Assessor, Verifier and Teacher training. With over 2000 clients trained, Bright have successfully helped their clients achieve a 97% job success rate – 140% higher than the national average – with 100% completion and retention rates. In 2012, they were announced as the winner of the Small Business of the Year Award and a finalist for the National Business Awards. Bright Assessing approached Ixxus to replace their existing Moodle LMS, which no longer provides a satisfactory user experience either internally or to their customers. The existing LMS requires extensive manual intervention to create courses, maintain courses and support end users and is proving increasingly inefficient and inflexible in its capabilities. Bright require a powerful, interactive platform to facilitate communications between mentors and learners, automate repetitive tasks and which can be fully managed and controlled in-house.
The new Alfresco based LMS is positioned to provide both a foundation for assessment and a versatile document management system. This central platform will enable Bright to vastly simplify and improve user experience and provide easy to use workflows and communication interfaces. In addition, seamless integration with Salesforce and the existing website will streamline processes and facilitate easy adoption by staff and students alike.
Alfresco was selected to deliver the LMS as an open, cost-effective and robust content management system which delivers many of the required features out of the box. Utilising an Agile approach, Ixxus will meet regularly with Bright throughout the project in order to adjust priorities, allowing them to benefit from incremental delivery of a working product.
The new system is planned for deployment in late February 2013, promising a hugely improved user experience, reduction in cost and administration, and simplified workflow processes.
“Bright is dedicated to delivering high quality training and facilitating communication between learners and mentors, “ said Krissy Charles-Jones, CEO of Bright, “The new, open-source platform which Ixxus is building will enable us to train and assess learners in a much more interactive, easy-to-use way.”
