We enjoy helping and assisting rescues and shelters and any pet-related program, and do it as much as we can.

Pompano Beach, FL (PRWEB) January 09, 2013

1-800-PetMeds®, America’s Largest Pet Pharmacy, donates necessary pet products to pet shelters and rescue volunteers in order to keep homeless animals healthy and happy. 1-800-PetMeds receives hundreds of donation requests for pet shelters and rescues in need daily, and spotlights one shelter a month. According to 1-800-PetMeds, pet lovers from around the U.S. contact them to suggest a shelter in need and 1-800-PetMeds donates pet products to these suggested rescues and shelters as their way of “giving back.”

“We enjoy helping and assisting rescues and shelters and any pet-related program, and do it as much as we can. We love to support all of the volunteers and pet lovers involved in these endeavors.” – said Dana Baca, 1-800-PetMeds Donations Coordinator.

Every month, 1-800-PetMeds packs up essential items for dogs and cats such as flea & tick preventatives, ear cleansers, vitamins, and flea shampoos and donates them to a shelter or rescue event in need. This month, 1-800-PetMeds donated to Destiny for Dogs, a rescue and assistance center that helps senior individuals keep their beloved pets. Destiny for Dogs provides food, supplies and vet care, along with short-term foster home or permanent home for dogs whose owners may not be able to care for them anymore.

“Destiny for Dogs helps low income seniors with their pet’s needs and costs. 1-800-PetMeds has been our biggest supporter in providing necessary items needed to assist these seniors. 1-800-PetMeds carries everything we need. 1-800-PetMeds has also donated many items to not-for-profit organizations and we greatly appreciate all they do.” – said Melody, at Destiny for Dogs

1-800-PetMeds wants to continue “giving back” to pets in need and encourages customers and pet lovers to suggest a favorite pet shelter or rescue organization in need for a donation by visiting their Charitable Causes page. In addition, the company encourages everyone to donate to shelters, and to read about featured shelters of the month.
