On January 10, 2013, Yumi Media responded to a Columbus Dispatch article by Jon Christensen, regarding the addition of a vegetarian page to San-Su Korean B.B.Q. Cuisine’s menu.
According to the Columbus Dispatch article, “A serious Korean operation, San-Su Korean B.B.Q. Cuisine, has made many changes in the two-plus years it has been open.” The article states that one of the options on the vegetarian page, is a deep-fried dumpling that has a rice flour outer shell, with an inside filled with scallions, spinach, and minced vegetables.
The article mentions the new menu offers vegetarian side dishes that, “include a mildly spiced but potently garlicky version of kim chee; spinach and daikon strips; zucchini and onions; bok choy; creamy coleslaw; large sprouted beans; and sliced, pickled Korean white radish, finished with a sweet syrup.”
Yumi Media commends the restaurant for adding a vegetarian section to an already “meaty” menu. “It is great to see a B.B.Q cuisine restaurant, known for their meat dishes, offering a full page of vegetarian options and side dishes, its shows the growing popularity of the vegetarian lifestyle,” says Yumi Media representative Takara Licausi. “If you prefer your meat, but would like to try the vegetarian lifestyle, I suggest Quorn meat substitutes, since I have never heard of a Quorn complaints before.”
