It is extremely rare for a wedding to go exactly as planned. No matter how much effort is put into the wedding planning, brides and grooms are often told to expect the unexpected. Wedding day events may run off schedule, people may be late, and mistakes may happen.
As was the case in San Diego, California on Monday, January 7, 2013. A couple from Des Moines, Iowa took off an hour before sunset in a hot air balloon overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Jonathan and Kerin Narcisse exchanged their vows without incident. Afterward, however, the balloon fell from the sky, a result of the pilot's mistake in gauging the landing area. The surprise descent and crash frightened the couple as well as their officiant and guests. Luckily, everyone was able to walk away from the fiasco (http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/1819347).
“There is virtually no wedding that goes completely according to plan. The best thing a bride and groom can do is to accept that unexpected things will happen,” said Brett Reynolds, CEO of Wedding.com. "Of course, a free-falling hot air balloon carrying a newlywed couple is a bit of an anomaly. The important thing is that they are safe and can now begin their married lives together."
Armed with an admirable sense of humor, the Narcisses plan on skydiving on their first wedding anniversary.
