In this role, Mark will oversee the finance, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis operations for the organization. He will also evaluate, design, and implement new strategic business initiatives including asset and entity acquisitions under the direction of the Peak’s Chief Operating Officer. Mark brings more than 25 years of experience in real estate accounting, acquisition, finance, operations and disposition of real estate assets, with core expertise in REO, sub-performing, non-performing and performing loan analysis.

Mark comes to Peak with extensive sourcing, structuring and negotiation experience in the real estate debt and equity markets, having executed in excess of $10 billion in valuation, acquisition, disposition, repositioning and financing transactions. Nester has headed his own consulting firm servicing the real estate and financial service sectors, as well as serving in managing director positions at two highly recognized “Big Four” accountancy firms. He was also the CFO of a publicly traded REIT, a land development/homebuilding company and a green energy startup company. Mark holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University, and completed part of his undergraduate studies at University of Wisconsin – Madison (Big Ten conference) on a football scholarship. Mark is also certified as an expert witness relating to real estate debt and equity.
