Sometimes a company withholds information about additional insurance, whether intentionally or inadvertently. Unless the personal injury attorney knows how to dig for this information, it can go undiscovered.

Woodland Hills, CA (PRWEB) January 11, 2013

The personal injury law firm of Freeman & Freeman LLP is pleased to announce that they’ve obtained a settlement of $2 million on behalf of their clients, Angela and Patricia Sevilla, against defendants California Rock Products Inc. dba Western Materials. This huge settlement was the result of case number BC438109 filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Said attorney Steve Freeman, “We’re very pleased that our months of pursuit to uncover the true amount of insurance coverage resulted in a large settlement for our clients. This sum will go a long way towards helping each of them move forward with their lives.”

According to the lawsuit, plaintiffs Angela and Patricia Sevilla were travelling northbound on the 101 freeway approaching the Lynn Rd. overpass. A very large 18 wheeler truck hauling two trailers fully loaded with thousands of pounds of sand was also exiting the Lynn Rd. overpass when it attempted to make a tight left turn and flipped over. The truck spilled its entire load onto the freeway below, smashing onto the Sevilla’s vehicle. Said a witness at the scene, “I thought the overpass was collapsing.” As a result of this freak accident, the Sevilla’s roof and front end imploded and the front windshield blew out. On scene, both Sevillas were transported to Los Robles Medical Center by ambulance.

The hospital records submitted as proof in the lawsuit show that both Angela and Patricia Sevilla suffered traumatic injuries following the accident. Angela Sevilla’s medical records show a lumbar compression fracture, low back disc herniation, and torn meniscus in her right knee. Patricia Sevilla’s medical records similarly show multiple spinal compression and superior endplate fractures, right shoulder injuries, and chronic severe headaches.

The clients retained the personal injury attorneys Freeman & Freeman LLP to obtain relief from their mounting medical bills. Following the accident, the defendants disclosed a $1 million insurance policy, but a rigorous investigation by the personal injury attorneys at Freeman & Freeman LLP uncovered an additional $1 million insurance policy that the defendants had not previously disclosed. Shortly before trial, the defendants settled for the full $2 million, offering the Sevillas relief from their medical bills.

Said attorney Steve Freeman, “Sometimes a company withholds information about additional insurance, whether intentionally or inadvertently. Unless the personal injury attorney knows how to dig for this information, it can go undiscovered. We were so fortunate to obtain such a favorable settlement for our clients to provide for their continuing medical care.”
