On January 14, a representative of Linus Bike applauds the efforts of Syracuse Bicycle and The Tour de Cure, a diabetes cure cycling event, as reported by Syracuse.com.

According to the article, Syracuse Bicycle has “just announced its free 2013 Get Fit2Cure Training Program and team in cooperation with the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Tour de Cure.” Syracuse.com reports that The Tour De Cure cycling event, which will raise funds for diabetes research, will take place at Verona Beach State Park, in Verona Beach, NY, on June 9th.

The article reports that participants of The Tour De Cure can choose to ride distances of 15, 28, 62.5 or 100 miles. To participate, riders pay a $15 registration fee and must raise a minimum of $150 for diabetes research, advocacy and education.

Syracuse Bike has put together a winning team in order to raise money for the cause. According to the article, “The Syracuse Bicycle Tour de Cure team's 26 riders raised over $10,000 for the ADA in 2012. This year's team goal is for 50 riders to raise $20,000.”

China Reevers, a representative of city bikes manufacturer Linus Bike, is overjoyed by the incredible impact cycling will have on diabetes research. “We’ve all heard about charity races and walks, but to see that cyclists are contributing to diabetes research is wonderfully encouraging. The Tour De Cure sounds like a fun and effective way to raise money for research and we support all participants of the cycling event, especially the ambitious Syracuse Bicycle and their goal of raising $20,000.”
